President and CEO of the NAACP, Benjamin Todd Jealous, explains why his organization will be petitioning the United Nations on Saturday over new voting laws in 25 US states — the NAACP believes these laws represent a concerted effort to disenfranchise African-American and Latino voters ahead of next year’s presidential election.

Jealous has called the new state election laws “the greatest coordinated attacks on voting rights since the dawn of Jim Crow.”

Jealous was interviewed this morning on The Takeaway.
